Colorado Rapids striker Jonathan Lewis was named to the MLS Team of the Week Starting XI on Monday following his two-assist performance on Saturday night against LA Galaxy. Lewis contributed to both goals in the 2-0 shutout over Greg Vanney's side.

In the 20th minute, the striker collected a long ball upfield from Danny Wilson, beat his defender down the line and cut back for a square pass into Diego Rubio at the top of the box. Rubio's clean strike was on target, marking the first goal of the night and Lewis' first assist of the 2022 season.

Lewis found success in the attacking third again in the 75th minute when he intercepted a poor Galaxy pass right in front of the eighteen, drove inside and sent a back-heel pass to an oncoming Gyasi Zardes. Zardes' clinical shot found the back of the net for Colorado's second and final goal of the night.

His two contributions were his first of 2022, added onto his three goals on the season already.
