News & Notes: Vines & Acosta Named to Provisional Nations League Roster

USMNT Update

This week, the USMNT announced its provisional 40-man roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Nations League semifinal and, hopefully, subsequent final. The U.S. is set to compete against Honduras on June 3 at Empower Field at Mile High and, if they are victorious, they will play the winner of Mexico and Costa Rica on June 6, also in Denver.

The final 23-man roster will be announced one week prior to the first competition.

Also this week, Concacaf announced the official schedule for the 2021 Gold Cup. The preliminary round is set to take place July 2-6 and the final on August 1, with the entire tournament taking place in the U.S. The Gold Cup takes place every two years and offers a good opportunity for the U.S. to be in the running for another trophy and for head coach Gregg Berhalter to continue to examine his squad going into World Cup Qualification in the fall. Click here for the full schedule and locations.

In addition to these upcoming matches, the USMNT has even more upcoming events on its busy calendar in 2021, which offers plenty of opportunities for Acosta and Vines, who have earned plenty of minutes and praise from the U.S. brass already this year. See the USMNT upcoming schedule below:
