Tale of the Tape | Mekeil Williams vs. Michael Barrios | Dallas vs. Rapids

2017.09.26 Tale of the Tape

Only Victor Vazquez (16) of Toronto FC and Lee Nguyen (15) of New England Revolution have more assists this season than FC Dallas winger Michael Barrios (14).

Expect the diminutive Colombian to test the Rapids’ Trinidad and Tobago international defender Mekeil Williams when the two teams meet for a third time in Frisco on Wednesday night (once in the league and once in the Open Cup previously).

Williams has speed, and likes to get forward, though his hands may be full with monitoring the movement of Barrios. Closing down Barrios could be key to stifling the home side’s creative juices inside Toyota Stadium (Altitude 6:00 p.m. MT).

Small in stature but lightning-quick and dangerously shifty on the ball, Barrios has the ability to get in behind opposition backlines and create danger.
