Neil Emblen
Assistant Coach
Assistant coach Neil Emblen joined the Rapids in February of 2018.
As a coach, Emblen managed New Zealand based club Waitakere United from 2009-2012. During those three years he would lead Waitakere United to three consecutive national league titles. In 2012 Emblen managed the New Zealand national team at the London Olympics and served two games as the New Zealand interim head coach prior to the arrival of Anthony Hudson to the All Whites.
Emblen, a native of Bromley, England, began his playing career as a youth player for Tonbridge Angels from 1987-1990. The central defender/midfielder would make senior appearances for teams such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he made over 230 appearances, Millwall, Crystal Palace, Norwich City, Walsall, New Zealand Knights and Waitakere United.
