Seven players were recognized at the 2019 end of season awards gala, A Burgundy Affair presented by Audi, on Monday night.
The annual event celebrated the achievements of players and staff for their outstanding performances both on an off the pitch. The event, benefiting Kroenke Sports Charities, was followed by a special 'Toast to Tim' presented by Transamerica recognizing Tim Howard's professional career and legacy.
Kei Kamara took home the Golden Boot award for his stellar 2019 campaign which saw the striker bag 14 goals in 29 appearances.
Jack Price was honored as the Team MVP and the Players' Player awards while the fans voted Sam Vines as the Fan Favorite.
Lalas Abubakarwas named the Defensive Player of the Year, and rookie Andre Shinyashiki won Young Player of the Year.
The Academy Player of the Year Award was given to Abraham Rodriquez for his outstanding performance in 2019. Tim Howardwas named the Humanitarian of the Year for his continued participation in community events and his movement to educate & advocate for Tourette syndrome through Howard's Heroes.
On the front office side, Account Executive JoJo Schmidt won the Gold Star Sales and Service Award, which is presented to the Sales and Service member who relentlessly goes above and beyond and champions the '24/7/365' mentality. Social Media & Content Manager Dylan Gannon was awarded the One Club Award, which is given to the front office member who has made substantive, yet largely unrecognized contribution to the club during the season.
