The Rapids midfield duo of Mark-Anthony Kaye and Kellyn Acosta hope to take the first steps toward qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup with three matches in the coming days.
The Toronto-born Kaye and Canada begin their quest to qualify for a first World Cup since 1986 with a home match at BMO Field against Honduras on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 6:05 PM MT. Get up to speed on all the storylines before Thursday's match here.
Acosta and the USMNT are training in Nashville ahead of their away match in El Salvador on Thursday. The US is looking to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 2014 after missing out on the 2018 edition. Kickoff for the US is set for 8:05 PM MT.
"We've shown in the past that no matter what kind of adversity has been thrown our way we've been able to adapt," Acosta told reporters on Tuesday. "I think guys are mentally ready, physically ready, and we're going to go out there and get the results we want."
Canada and the US will clash on Sunday night in Nashville, a match that could feature both Kaye and Acosta on opposing sides.
