Argentinian forward Pirchio joins preseason training

Marcos Pirchio, a 27-year-old forward from Argentina, join the Colorado Rapids preseason workouts on Friday morning at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.


Pirchio began his professional career in 2007 with Estudiantes in Argentina. He played for various club's in his home country, including for Gimnasio y Esgrima de Jujuy in 2011. Pirchio has also played abroad with Everton in Chile, as well as in Ecuador for Deportivo Quito in 2009 and for Macará last year.


Notes: Trialist goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer was been released, leaving trialist Clint Irwin as the only other 'keeper in camp behind Matt Pickens and Stew Ceus...defender Diego Calderon was excused from Friday's training while attending to personal matters...Kevin Harbottle and Edson Buddle arrived on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, and both took their entrance physicals and other exams on Friday...Pending weather, the team will train Saturday morning and have Sunday off.
