Commerce City, Colo. - Colombian Andres 'Michi' Sarmiento is the latest player to join the Colorado Rapids preseason camp as he took part in his first training session with the team on Wednesday morning. The long-time Atlético Bucaramanga (Colombia) midfielder
becomes the 4th player from Colombia currently training with the club.
Midfielder Jaime Castrillon (left) was signed last month, and was joined by countrymen Luis Zapata (center) and Jefferson Angulo (right), who are still on trial.
Sarmiento, 33, debut with Bucaramanga in 1999 and has played all but two season with that club. In 2004 he played with Millionarios and in 2009 with Unión Atlético El Vigía in Venezuela.
On another note, trialist Sam Archer, who impressed at the Rapids invite-online Combine in January, has been released.
