Colorado Rapids Soccer Club announced three roster moves on Friday in advance of the club’s nationally-televised
clash with Orlando City SC on Sunday
afternoon at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park, where kick-off is set for 2:00 PM.
On-loan goalkeeper
Andrew Dykstra
has been recalled from Charlotte Independence of the United Soccer League (USL) per Right of Recall and will rejoin the first team for Sunday’s match. Dykstra, 32, has made five appearances for Charlotte this season, including one clean sheet. In a corresponding move, Rapids Academy goalkeeper Kainoa Likewise has rejoined Charlotte Independence.
In addition, midfielder
Sam Hamilton
has been loaned to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC of the United Soccer League (USL). Per the Right of Recall incorporated in the loan agreement, the Rapids retain the right to recall Hamilton at any point during the remainder of the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines. Hamilton, 22, has appeared in three matches and played 124 minutes for the Rapids since joining the team in 2017, as the 15th overall pick in the MLS Superdraft. He will join Rapids striker Niki Jackson who also joined Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC earlier this month.
