The Colorado Rapids announced today the date and opponent of their home opener for the 2020 Major League Soccer season.
Robin Fraser’s side will host Orlando City SC at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park on March 7 at 7:00 PM MT. The Rapids currently hold a 14-3-7 (W-L-D) all-time record in home openers and are unbeaten in their last six home openers (3-0-3).
Prior to that, Colorado will open their 25th MLS season on the road when they take on D.C. United at Audi Field on February 29 at 11:00 AM MT.
During the 2020 MLS regular season, each club will play 34 games, including 17 home games and 17 away games. Teams will face each of their conference opponents twice during the season, one game at home and one game away, for a total of 24 matches. The additional 10 regular season matches will be played against opponents from the other conference. Those inter-conference opponents will be revealed with the full 2020 schedule at a later date.
