Commerce City, Colo. - The Colorado Rapids will conduct an invite-only Tryout Combine on January 17, 18, and 19, 2012 at Foothills Sports Arena in Lakewood, Colorado. To be considered for the Combine, players must be 18 years of age or older and have completed their college eligibility.
2012 Rapids Tryout Application
The Colorado Rapids technical staff will review all applicants and contact those they would like to invite to the Combine. If selected, participants will be required to pay a $150 participation fee and complete a waiver release form in order to take part in the Combine. All travel expenses, housing, meals (with the exception of provided lunches), are the responsibility of the participants.
Fifty seven players were invited to the 2011 Tryout Combine, from which two players were then invited to attend preseason camp with the Rapids. Following preseason, trialist Steven Emory was signed and made his professional debut on March 30 in a U.S. Open Cup playing game against the Chicago Fire.
