COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids announced today the club has loaned defender Michael Edwards to USL Championship side Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC for the remainder of the 2022 season, pending Federation approval. Under the terms of the loan agreement, the Rapids retain the right to recall Edwards at any point during the remainder of the MLS regular season, subject to all MLS roster compliance guidelines.
Edwards, 21, has spent the 2022 season on loan with Colorado Rapids 2, making 12 appearances and scoring a goal for the MLS NEXT Pro side. The Woodbridge, Virginia, native will be logging his second stint in Colorado Springs after previously spending the 2021 season on loan with Switchbacks FC.
