COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids have signed defender Keegan Rosenberry to a three-year contract extension through the 2024 MLS regular season with a club option for an additional year, the club announced today.
“Keegan is one of the leading and most consistent fullbacks in the league,” said “Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids Executive VP & General Manager. “His quality on both sides of the ball, work rate and athleticism have made him an integral part of our success since his arrival three years ago so we’re delighted he has committed his future to the club.”
Rosenberry originally joined the Rapids ahead of the 2019 season and has since gone on to make 81 regular season appearances for the club, registering four goals and eight assists. The 28-year-old has been a stalwart in the Rapids’ back line since his arrival, playing every minute of the 2019 season—one of only three outfield players in MLS to do so that year—and appearing in all but five of Colorado’s games since.
A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Rosenberry was a product of Philadelphia Union’s youth academy. He made his MLS debut with their senior side in 2016 and was the only outfield player in MLS that year to play every minute of the season. In all, Rosenberry featured 80 times for Philadelphia, logging three goals and five assists across his three seasons with the Eastern Conference club.
