COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids announced today the club has transferred midfielder Braian Galván to Club Atlético Banfield in Argentina’s Primera División.
“We’d like to thank Braian for all that he has done for the club on and off the pitch. We wish him all the best in the upcoming season,” said Colorado Rapids President Pádraig Smith.
Galván, 23, entered his fifth season with the Rapids after signing an extension in February 2022. Galván joined the club from Argentina’s Club Atlético Colón in January 2020. The San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina, native spent three years with the Colón after signing with them in 2017 and making his professional debut at 17.
Club Atlético Banfield, based in Banfield in Gran Buenos Aires, was founded in 1896. Known as El Taladro, the club currently plays at Estadio Florencio Sola and is led by coach Julio César Falcioni. Banfield is three games into their 2024 season.
