The Colorado Rapids look to snap a four-match winless streak against a Montreal Impact squad coming off a huge home win when the teams meet Saturday night at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park.
The Rapids (5-12-5) suffered a second straight defeat last Saturday, falling 3-1 to the San Jose Earthquakes at Avaya Stadium. An own goal by Lalas Abubakartwo minutes after kickoff put Colorado into an early hole. Vako doubled the hosts lead in the 34th minute and Shea Salinas made it 3-0 in the 83rd minute before Diego Rubio scored what proved to be a cosmetic goal two minutes from full time.
The Impact (10-11-3) snapped a four-match losing streak in a big way, defeating the Philadelphia Union, 4-0, at Stade Saputo Saturday night. Lassi Lappalainen got off to a dream debut with a 4th-minute goal. Orji Okwonkwo doubled the lead in the 36th minute and the pair of Bologna loanees added a second goal apiece after halftime.
