COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Thursday, August 30, 2012) – Colorado Rapids forward Omar Cummings has been called up to the Jamaica National Team for two 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against the United States. Cummings will join the team next week and be unavailable for Colorado’s home game against Portland on Sept. 5. He will rejoin the Rapids ahead of their Sept. 14 match at LA Galaxy.

Cummings, 30, has made 29 total appearances for his country, including in their most recent match against El Salvador on Aug. 15 when he started and played 55 minutes in the 2-0 victory. He made his debut for the Reggae Boyz on July 28, 2008, also against El Salvador, and has scored seven goals for his country. For the Rapids, Cummings has scored five goals in 21 games this season, adding one assist.
