David Weiss will be recognized as the Colorado Rapids' representative for the 2018 MLS WORKS Community MVP competition presented by Wells Fargo on August 1 at the 2018 MLS All-Star Game in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Highland, New York native is the Athletic Director and boys and girls soccer coach at Slavens K-8 School in Denver Public School's Middle School Prep League.
Through his 19 year career at Slavens, Weiss has set an example as a role model in the community and has used soccer as a tool to help make a positive impact by focusing on inclusion, diversity and equality. Weiss has consistently advocated for every child in the Prep League and has always looked to find ways to help kids to participate in the athletics program.
David Weiss was selected as the Rapids' representative for the 2018 MLS WORKS Community MVP competition because he demonstrates all of the qualities and a character that would merit the honor of being named a Community MVP.
If chosen as the Grand Prize winner of the 2018 MLS WORKS Community MVP competition presented by Wells Fargo, based on online and Twitter voting results, Weiss will receive a $25,000 donation to his selected charity.
