Rapids forward Deshorn Brown has returned to the Rapids after playing the final few minutes of the Jamaican national team’s 2-1 loss to Serbia on Monday in New York. Brown, an 83rd minute substitute for the Reggae Boyz, will be with Colorado through the next three matches before the World Cup break.

“From the very beginning we had been working with Major League Soccer and the Jamaican Football Federation to get Deshorn back after the Serbia game, and we’re appreciative that the JFF has allowed him to rejoin our squad during this busy stretch for us,” said Paul Bravo, the Rapids VP of Soccer Operations. “It’s always good for him to get looks with his national team, and hopefully he can continue to earn those opportunities with strong play in MLS.”

Brown played 75 minutes of the Rapids 4-1 win over Montreal on Saturday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, coming close to scoring on a number of occasions, including hitting the post in the 31st minute. He flew to New York to join the Reggae Boyz on Sunday, played in the match on Monday at Red Bull Arena, and is now back in Colorado.

The Rapids face the Houston Dynamo this Sunday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, then have the Chicago Fire at home on June 4 and Dallas on the road on June 7.
