Deshorn Brown unable to prevent Canada's first win since 2012

Deshorn Brown for Jamaica

TORONTO - Colorado Rapids' leading scorer, Deshorn Brown, played 79 minutes for Jamaica at BMO Field in Toronto on Tuesday night, as the Reggae Boyz handed Canada their first victory in 16 attempts, stretching back to October 2012.

Jamaica took the lead on the half hour mark through Kemar Lawrence, with a thunderous drive. Their advantage lasted a minute, before David Edgar equalized for the home side.

Level at the break, Canada wrapped up the win with two goals in four second half minutes. First, Marcel de Jong struck on 68 minutes from a free-kick. Tosaint Antony Ricketts added a third.

Brown's best effort came on the stroke of half-time. His shot from the angle, set-up by Lawrence, was saved down low by Canadian goalkeeper Milan Borjan. The Rapids striker is expected to return to Colorado in time for Saturday's visit of the Portland Timbers (TICKETS).
