The Chile men's national team announced that striker Diego Rubio has been named to the 24-man roster in advance of their upcoming friendlies against Mexico and the United States.

The team will face Mexico in San Diego, California on Friday, March 22 and against the USMNT in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, March 26.

Rubio joins a star-studded squad that also includes FC Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal, veteran defender Gary Medel and Pablo Hernandez, the Independiente midfielder who played for D.C. United in 2010.

Rubio has earned four caps for Chile's senior team since debuting at age 18 in a friendly against Paraguay in June 2011. He appeared in two additional friendlies against France and Mexico later that year.

Most recently, Rubio started and played 57 minutes for Chile in a 0-0 friendly draw against South Korea on September 11, 2018.
