Colorado Rapids DP striker Gyasi Zardes was named to the MLS Team of the Week bench after notching his tenth goal of the season and ninth in burgundy. The U.S. international secured the Burgundy Boys' equalizer with Vancouver Whitecaps FC over the weekend to jumpstart the Rapids 3-1 victory at home.
Zardes' spot on the bench marks his second time on the league's Team of the Week roster since joining the Rapids, his first coming after his hat-trick performance against Minnesota United in August. In his 90 minutes played on Saturday the striker recorded two shots on goal. His tenth goal also marks the fifth time he's hit double-digit goals in his regular season MLS career.
