The long flight from Chile to Dallas to Denver International Airport didn't seem to affect new Rapids attacker Kevin Harbottle. The Chilean touched down in Colorado at 9:30 a.m. following an overnight flight and he was at Dick's Sporting Goods Park before the team's morning session even ended.
"It was very good, maybe a little long," Harbottle told ColoradoRapids.com. "It's been two months that I've been away from a club so I'm happy to arrive and ready to begin in the best way possible."
After meeting the coaching staff in person and getting a quick tour of the facility, Harbottle stepped out onto the staduim pitch for the initial photos with the Rapids scarf and was itching to get to get started.
"Today," he said of when he expected to train. "I'll go to the hotel for a bit but I'm coming back to get started this afternoon."
And that he did, though not yet with his new teammates.
While the young players scrimmaged in the afternoon, Harbottle worked with fitness coach Paul Caffrey on the adjacent field.
The team has Thursday off so it's possible Harbottle could take part in his first team workout Friday morning.
