Dominique Badji has proven to be a difference maker for the burgundy boys in September. In the match against the Houston Dynamo, Badji gave the Rapids a first road win of the season as he finished off a phenomenal cross from Stefan Aigner in the 93rd minute. Just a week later, Badji delivered again in a hard-fought 1-1 draw against New York City FC as he scored the equalizer in the 88th minute. On September 23, he tallied his third goal of the month and ninth of the season as he slammed home a deflection from Vancouver defender Tim Parker. In all, Badji started six matches, had a 77 percent shooting accuracy and added the helper to Alan Gordon’s game-winner against Montreal Impact.
Meanwhile, Stefan Aigner has proven dangerous in the attack in just a few appearances. Aigner saw the field in 224 minutes over six matches, notching a goal and an assist. He also created six chances and had a 70 percent passing accuracy. On September 30 against Montreal, Aigner scored his first MLS goal as he headed home a cross by Mekeil Williams.
The third nominee for the September POTM is Tim Howard. Overall, the USMNT number one played 540 minutes, earned one clean sheet and made 18 saves. He was also nominated for MLS Save of the Week twice in September.
