This Thanksgiving Day, we're giving back to the Colorado community in a BIG WAY!
For every fan inside DICK’S Sporting Goods Park prior to kickoff of the Western Conference Semifinal Playoff match on November 25, the Colorado Rapids and Kroenke Sports Charities will donate thirty meals to the Food Bank of the Rockies. That's right, Rapids fans can give back to Colorado just by showing up to watch the beautiful game!
But that's just the beginning!
The Colorado Rapids, Kroenke Sports Charities, and our corporate partners are donating 30 meals for every fan in their seat prior to kickoff at 2:30pm on Thanksgiving Day. We now have the chance to double our initial goal of donating 250,000 meals to families facing hunger in our community
“Our Thanksgiving Day playoff match is going to be a momentous day in our club’s history, not only because of its significance on the pitch, but because of the potential impact it can have in helping those in need in Colorado,” said Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids Executive VP & General Manager. “Hosting the first Thanksgiving Day game in MLS history is a privilege and something we knew would be a wonderful opportunity to benefit our local community. Thanks to KSE Charities and the generous donations from our partners, our fans won’t just be supporting their favorite team by attending the match, they’ll also be supporting their fellow Coloradans.”
“Thanksgiving is about coming together - with your family, your friends and as a community - and it's only when we come together that we have the opportunity to create meaningful change and provide a lasting impact on those around us," Senior Director of Community Relations & Youth Programming Caitlin Kinser said. "The Colorado Rapids and Kroenke Sports Charities are delighted to partner with Food Bank of the Rockies and give back meals to those in need this holiday season.”
“We congratulate the Colorado Rapids for their well deserved 2021 MLS Playoff seed. And we thank the organization and its fans for helping Food Bank of the Rockies ignite the power of community to nourish people facing hunger. Together we can help thousands of fellow Coloradans enjoy a holiday meal as we cheer on the Rapids,” said Erin Pulling, President and CEO, Food Bank of the Rockies.
