Rapids' midfielders Mark-Anthony Kaye and Bryan Acosta were called up to their respective countries' international squads ahead of World Cup Qualifiers on Sunday. Kaye, a member of the Canadian national team, will join John Herdman's side for the Concacaf Final Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers this month, while Acosta will add to Honduras' talent in the upcoming round of play.
Kaye, a Toronto native, has recorded 32 appearances with the CNT, scoring 2 goals and documenting seven assists in that time. Canada is currently in first place on 25 points after 11 matches as the only undefeated squad through the Concacaf Final Round. The 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup will be Kaye's first if the Reds advance.
Canada will face Costa Rica away at the Estadio Nacional in San José on March 24th, Jamaica back home at BMO Field in Toronto on March 27th , and Panama away at the Estadio Olímpico Rommel Fernández in Panama City on March 30th.
On the international stage, Acosta has featured for the Honduras men’s national team on 56 occasions, including 10 Concacaf World Cup Qualifying matches and 12 matches across four Concacaf Gold Cup tournaments, recording two goals and an assist.
Honduras sits at the bottom of the Octagonal going into the final round with three points. Acosta's side will take on Panama in Panama City on March 24th before returning home to face Mexico in San Pedro Sula on March 27th. Honduras will complete the round against Jamaica in Kingston on March 30th.
