The 24-year-old has represented Canada at two Concacaf Gold Cups (2017, 2019) and is a regular starter for the national team with two starts in the first two matches of this year’s Gold Cup. He was among the nominees for both the 2017 and 2018 MLS Defender of the Year awards after leading Atlanta in touches and tackles won. This is the first MLS All-Star selection for González PÃrez.
