According to MLSSoccer.com and Tom Bogert, the Rapids' quartet of moves in the 2021 secondary transfer window were good enough to receive a grade of an A-.
The biggest addition, of course, was the move to bring Canadian international Mark-Anthony Kaye in from LAFC. Kaye's addition bolstered an already stacked midfield and now gives head coach Robin Fraser added layers of depth, athleticism and playmaking.
Bogert writes "Kaye is an All-Star talent and adding him to a team that was top four in the Western Conference is great business. Perhaps quietly to some, exciting things are happening in Colorado."
The Rapids also filled the void of the departing Sam Vines by adding promising left back Lucas Esteves from Brazilian powerhouse Palmeiras.
Finally, familiar face Dominique Badji was added from Nashville to bring some depth to the striker group.
LS also moved the Rapids into the top 5 in their recent Power Rankings, a new high for 2021.
