The Rapids had three players named to the MLS Team of the Week (Week 29) presented by Audi after their respective performances against Sporting Kansas City on September 21.
Jack Pricemakes his third appearance on the MLS Team of the Week, earning a spot on the Week 15 and Week 22 roster. The 26-year-old Englishman had a stellar performance as he provided the helper to Kei Kamara's bicycle kick goalin the 42nd minute and Tommy Smith's game-winner goal in the 85th minute. Price has the most set pieces assists in a single season since 2010 - surpassing David Beckham and Graham Zusi.
Tommy Smithmakes his second appearance on the MLS Team of the Week after previously earning a spot on the Week 26 team following his performance against RBNY. The 29-year-old defender added his third goal and the game-winner on Saturday night inside Children's Mercy Park. Smith headed home a corner kick from Jack Price to send the Rapids home with three points. Overall, Smith assisted Diego Rubio's 76th-minute goal, distributed 26 passes and made 8 defensive actions (interceptions, clearances, tackles, recoveries).
Kei Kamara makes his fourth appearance on the MLS Team of the Week, previously he featured in Week 15, Week 16 and Week 22. On Saturday, Kamara scored a phenomenal bicycle kick goal to give the Rapids the lead in the 42nd minute. (WATCH) It was a goal that he dreamed about making in Children's Mercy Park. "It's weird to say...I don't know if I'd say weird, but I actually had a dream about it," Kamara said. "The only other time I scored a half-bicycle/scissor was in this stadium. I was like, how awesome would it be if I could have something like that." Overall, the 35-year-old striker distributed 18 passes and made three defensive plays (interceptions, clearances, tackles, recoveries).
The Rapids return to action this Sunday against FC Dallas at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park. Kickoff is set for 5:30 PM MT. (TICKETS)
