The Rapids had three players named to the MLS Team of the Week (Week 27) presented by Audi after their respective performances against Seattle Sounders FC on September 7.
Andre Shinyashikicemented himself in the MLS Rookie of the Year conversation as he scored both of the Rapids goals in the 2-0 win over Seattle. The 22-year-old striker started off the scoring right before halftime, as he found the back of the net from tight angle off a beautiful layoff from Jonathan Lewis. The rookie scored his second of the night, and his seventh on the season, after Keegan Rosenberry found him wide open in front of net in the 70th minute to double the lead for the home side.
Sam Vines makes his second appearance on the MLS Team of the Week after previously earning a spot on the Week 17 roster for his performance against LAFC. The 20-year-old Homegrown turned in a massive two-way performance and helped preserve a second-consecutive clean sheet for the Rapids. The Colorado Springs native has now started 14 straight games as he continues his breakout sophomore campaign.
Keegan Rosenberry also makes his second appearance on the MLS Team of the Week, previously he featured on the Week 23 team following his performance against San Jose. Rosenberry provided the assist on Shinyashiki's second goal with an unselfish ball across goal. In his first season in burgundy, Rosenberry is the only Rapids player to start in every game and play in every minute in the MLS season.
