Starting XI:
Midfielder Johan Blomberg is starting in at the right wingback position. Blomberg missed five consecutive games due to a knee injury that occurred against Real Salt Lake back on April 21. He has played a total of 813 minutes in 11 appearances and has three assists this season.
Striker Yannick Boli played 45 minutes for the Rapids on Wednesday against Seattle before being subbed out by Jack McBean. The The 5' 11' striker has notched five starts in 11 appearances and has one goal in 486 total minutes.
Defender Kortne Ford appears in the Starting XI for the second time this MLS season. The Olathe, Kansas native played 90 minutes on Wednesday against Seattle during his first MLS start of the year. The talented young defender suffered a knee injury during a team scrimmage in early March that has kept him sidelined the majority of the season.
Goalkeeper Tim Howard starts in goal for the 59th time since joining the Rapids in 2016. This season the US Men's National Team legend has 54 saves and three clean sheets. The North Brunswick, New Jersey native has been named to the MLS Team of the Week during Week 4 and most recently during Week 18 after his 10-save performance during the 1-0 road win at Vancouver.
Striker Joe Mason came on in the 55th minute during the 4th of July match against Seattle for an injured Edgar Castillo. Mason has notched three goals in 688 minutes this season. He has eight starts and 13 total appearances in 2018.
Midfielder Sam Nicholson is making his 11th consecutive MLS start since joining Colorado from Minnesota back on May 2. Nicholson scored his first-ever goal with the Rapids on Wednesday during the 2-1 home loss to Seattle.
Midfielder Jack Price returns to the Starting XI after being out due to yellow card accumulation. The Englishman will partner up with Danny Wilson at midfield once again tonight. In his first season with the Rapids, Price has started 15 times and played 1,350 minutes. He has one goal and three assists and is second in the league with 67 attempted corner kicks. Only New England’s Diego Fagundez has more with 70.
Defender Axel Sjöberg is in the Starting XI for a third-consecutive week. Sjöberg will lace-up for his seventh start in 2018. The Stockholm, Sweden native has played 585 minutes in eight appearances this season.
Defender Tommy Smith played in the backline for 90 minutes vs Seattle. The Englishman has played every minute (1,530) this MLS season. He’s notched two goals, one of which was a game-winning goal, three assists, and 20 shots in 2018.
Danny Wilson is back on the pitch for the rapids after serving a one-game suspension due to yellow card accumulation. Wilson will feature in the midfield for a second time this season alongside Jack Price. The 6' 2' defender will start in his 13th game for the Rapids since being acquired from Rangers F.C. on January 29.
Wingback Deklan Wynne is set to make his 18th consecutive MLS start. Tonight, he once again features in the wingback position, as he did against the Sounders. He is one of only two Rapids who has played every minute this season with a total of 1,530. The Rapids acquired the defender from Vancouver last December.
On the Bench:
Midfielder Micheal Azira started at midfield for the Rapids on Wednesday for a suspended Jack Price. His first start of the season came on May 12 against NYCFC and with his second start coming against Houston on June 9. Azira enters his third season with the club, and his fifth in Major League Soccer. In 2017, he finished with a career high in minutes for a single season with 2,569.
Striker Dominique Badji will start from the bench tonight for the first time this season. The Dakar, Senegal native has notched a team-high six goals this season. He has started in his 15 games this 2018 MLS season.
Midfielder Nana Boateng was an unused substitute during the 4th of July home game vs Seattle. This season, Boateng has appeared in nine matches, seven from the start, and has played a total of 583 minutes.
Midfielder Shkëlzen Gashi is in the Rapids 18 tonight. The last time Colorado played at Montreal back on April 30, 2016, Gashi scored the first goal of the game for the Rapids in the 47th minute. He was named to the MLS Team of the Week for his two assist performance during Week 17. The Zürich, Switzerland native has scored one goal and has two assists in ten appearances this season.
Midfielder Marlon Hairston was an unused substitute on Wednesday. Hairston has started six games for the Rapids in 2018 for a total of 434 minutes. He enters his fifth season in MLS all of which have been with the Rapids.
Goalkeeper Zac MacMath has featured in two games this season. MacMath’s first start of the season was against Orlando City SC on April 29. He enters his fourth season in Colorado with 158 minutes played and nine saves in 2018.
Striker Jack McBean replaced Yannick Boli at halftime against the Sounders. The Newport Beach, California native scored his first goal of the season in the 85th minute against the Red Bulls on May 12. McBean enters his eighth MLS season - first with the Rapids - after being acquired from the LA Galaxy on December 14, 2017. He’s played a total of 466 minutes for the Rapids in 2018.
