We are so excited to say, for the first time all year, that it is finally gameweek.
On Saturday, the Rapids open up their season against FC Dallas on the road at Toyota Stadium. While there is sure to be a lot of action on Saturday, there is plenty of news that goes on with the team every day that we know you want to stay in touch with. Check back every Wednesday all season long for midweek updates on your favorite team.
Here is what has gone on so far this week leading up to Colorado’s regular season debut.
Fans to return to DSGP
The most exciting thing that has happened so far this week is no doubt the announcement that fans are set to return to DICK’S Sporting Goods Park as early as the team’s Home Opener against Austin FC on April 24. Nearly 8,000 fans will be able to watch their home team in person for the first time since March 7, 2020. More information to come, so stay tuned – because we can’t wait to see you soon!
Rapids train in Colorado prior to travel to Texas
The Rapids returned from preseason training in Tucson, Ariz., on Sunday to get some training sessions in Colorado prior to the game in Dallas. This year, with Covid protocols, most road trips will be the day of games, similar to last season. This means the players have nearly a week of sleep in their own beds – and training at altitude – before hitting the road for their first match in Frisco.
New kit debut alert!
With the Rapids opening the 2021 season on the road, that means that the Class 5 Kit will be on display for the first time this Saturday. As if you needed another reason to be excited for Saturday night!
