Due to inclement weather, the Colorado Rapids’ U.S. Open Cup match against Minnesota United FC tonight has been postponed. U.S. Soccer has taken the decision to schedule the continuation of the match on Thursday, May 12, at 12 p.m. MT.Â
At the time of the first delay at 6:21 p.m. MT, the Rapids and Minnesota were tied 1-1 in the 20th minute.
Prior to the inclement weather that struck Allianz Field, the Loons took the lead in the 8th minute when striker Abu Danladi put one away after finding a splitting run between Keegan Rosenberry and Auston Trusty. The Rapids replied quickly, as Diego Rubio's free kick at the top of the box was deflected off the wall twice and cleanly driven into the back of the net by a waiting Nicolás Mezquida in the 15th minute.
The rescheduled match on Thursday will be available to stream on ESPN+ and on Altitude Radio 950 AM.
