Commerce City, Colo. - It's been a fast first week for new Rapids head coach Oscar Pareja, but he's ready to go. The players were originally scheduled to report on Monday, January 23, but Pareja has moved date up a few days in order to give the group seven full weeks of preseason training.
Players will now report for physicals on Thursday, January 19 and undergo fitness tests on Jan. 20-21. The first day of training will be Monday, January 23. This first phase of preseason will take place at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, though a contigency plan is in place to train indoors in the event the weather does not cooperate.
The seven week preseason leads into the 2012 home opener, set for Saturday, March 10 against the Columbus Crew.
