To kick off the 2024 preseason, the Rapids are set to take on Mexican side Atlético Morelia on Tuesday, January 23 at 11 a.m MT.
Currently competing in the Liga de Expansión MX, Atlético Morelia sits at No. 11 on the table with one game played so far this season, a draw with La Paz.
Head Coach Chris Armas will lead the team for the first organized match since being appointed to his position in November, and nine new signings could earn their first competitive minutes in burgundy: Adam Beaudry, Omir Fernandez, Wayne Frederick, Nate Jones, Jasper Löffelsend, Djordje Mihailovic, Miguel Navarro, Zack Steffen and Kimani Stewart-Baynes.
Newly-appointed team captain Keegan Rosenberry will also have the chance to wear the armband for the first time during Tuesday's contest.
Following the scrimmage with the Monarchs, the Rapids will take on two more Mexican sides while training in Querétaro. They face Querétaro FC on January 29 at 11:30 a.m. MT and Atlante FC on February 2 at 11 a.m. MT.
All scrimmages in Mexico will be closed-door contests, but fans of the Burgundy and Blue can keep up with all the action on the official Rapids' social media accounts and coloradorapids.com for postgame coverage.
