COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Colorado Rapids Academy player Alex Hernandez has been called into the U.S. U-15 Youth National Team for a domestic training camp from March 30 through April 6, U.S. Soccer announced. Hernandez will join the youth national team in West Palm Beach, Florida, under Head Coach Ross Brad.

“We are excited for Alex to receive his third call up to the U.S. U-15 side,” said Andrew Kewley, Colorado Rapids Academy Director. “Alex has made steady progress across his time with the club and his national team experiences have added great value to his development within the Rapids Academy.”

Hernandez joined the club in 2022 from local youth side CASA. During the current 2024-25 MLS NEXT season, the midfielder has been playing with the U-16 side. Hernandez has contributed eight goals and five assists in his 27 appearances and has helped the team to a 9-1-2 record and a second place standing in the Frontier Division of MLS NEXT Flex.

All players are age-eligible for this summer’s 2025 Concacaf U-15 Boys’ Championship. The U.S. won its first-ever U-15 Boys’ regional title in 2023, its third appearance in the biennial tournament.
