COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – The Colorado Rapids have acquired a 2014 conditional draft pick from the Houston Dynamo, trading forward Macoumba Kandji to the Eastern Conference club in exchange.
“Everyone at the Rapids will always remember Mac’s role in helping the club win the 2010 MLS Cup,” said Rapids Technical Director Paul Bravo. “We all want to thank him for what he gave Colorado, and wish him the best going forward.”
Kandji originally joined the Rapids late in 2010, and in MLS Cup that season made the play that led to the game-winning overtime goal. He tore the ACL in his left knee in the process, and made his return to competitive action midway through the 2011 season. In two seasons with Colorado, Kandji played 16 regular season games (starting five) with three assists, and also appeared as a substitute in six playoff matches.
