The path to the MLS Cup goes through Colorado.
After a 2-0 win over Portland last Saturday to clinch a spot in the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs, the Rapids have now officially secured a home playoff match.
The Rapids clinched home-field advantage through at-least the first round of the playoffs despite a 1-0 loss against the New England Revolution. Regardless of tonight's result against the Revs in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Sporting Kansas City's 2-0 win over the LA Galaxy was enough for Colorado to secure a top four seed and a playoff match at home at Dick's Sporting Good Park.
With a spot in the playoffs secured and home-field advantage locked up, the Rapids continue to fight for the top seed in the Western Conference. The top seed in each conference secures the club a first-round bye and home-field advantage through the Conference Final round. The Revolution have secured the top seed in the East, but the West is still up for grabs and the race is on with only two regular-season matches left for Colorado.
