COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Wednesday, November 21, 2012) – The Colorado Rapids will conduct an invite-only Tryout Combine on January 6-8, 2013 at Foothills Sports Arena in Lakewood, Colo. To be considered for the Combine, players must be 18 years of age or older and have completed their college eligibility.
Players interested in applying for the Combine can fill out the 2013 COMBINE APPLICATION HERE.
The Colorado Rapids technical staff will review all applicants and contact those they would like to invite to the Combine. If selected, participants will be required to pay a $150 participation fee and complete a waiver release form in order to take part in the Combine. All travel expenses, housing, meals (with the exception of provided lunches), are the responsibility of the participants.
Sixty players were invited to the 2012 Tryout Combine, from which two players were then invited to attend preseason camp with the Rapids. Past Rapids Combine participants such as Stephen Keel and Steven Emory have gone on to earn roster spots with the team.
