COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids have recalled defender Sebastian Anderson from his loan with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, the club announced today. In accordance with MLS roster compliance regulations, Anderson is available for selection for Saturday’s Home Opener against Austin FC.
Anderson, 18, was loaned to Switchbacks FC in the USL Championship on March 29. The Rapids Academy product, who signed a Homegrown Player contract with the Rapids in 2019 at just 16 years old, has appeared in six MLS matches, five of them starts, and scored one goal. The Highlands Ranch, Colo., native is the youngest player to start an MLS match for Colorado and the youngest player in club history to score an MLS goal.Â
The Rapids will host fans for the first time in over a year on Saturday, April 24, at 7 p.m. MT, when they host expansion side Austin FC at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park. Fans can purchase tickets online at ColoradoRapids.com/Tickets.
