The Colorado Rapids defeated USL Championship side New Mexico United, 1-0, in a 90-minute preseason scrimmage on Saturday. Andre Shinyashiki scored the only goal when he put away Lalas Abubakar’s header off a Jack Price corner delivery. The Rapids have now out scored four opponents 6-0 in 270 minutes of action this preseason.

1' - Aaaand they’re off!
10' - Rapids are awarded their first corner. Price takes it, Abubakar finds it in the air and skims past the far post for a goal kick.
13' - Bassett runs in behind. His cross to Shinyashiki is dangerous but cleared. Rapids maintain possession.
15' - Rapids are awarded a penalty kick. Basset takes it and it is saved off the post. Then cleared for a corner.
18' - Price over the top to Barrios, he chests it down beautifully and curls one in for Shinyashiki but it’s just beyond his reach. Namli finds it and his shot flies wide.
23' - GOAL - Shinyashiki slots it home after a Abubakar's header from a corner. Rapids lead 1-0!
26' - Dangerous free kick for NMU. Header is popped up and William Yarbrough collects.
27' - Danny Wilson dives to hit the ball out for a throw as he slows down the NMU attack.
28' - Shinyashiki picks the pocket of his defender. He plays it to Barrios who sprints in. His touch is to the right and the shot is saved. Score is still 1-0 Rapids.
31' - CARD - New Mexico United was shown a yellow card after fouling Barrios at midfield.
33' - Barrios runs in behind, outside of the foot chip to Bassett who is wide open on the far post. His first-time hit is blocked off the line for a corner.
34' - Rapids corner kick in-swinger punched away. Mezquida finds it outside the box, chest it down and fires from the spot but it's wide.
35' - Rapids find another dangerous chance when Bassett makes a great run in behind off the ball from Barrios. Bassett receives the ball and cuts it back, passes it to Shinyashiki who then connects with Mezquida and his attempt is blocked.
45' - CARD - Younes Namli is shown a yellow card.
45' - Yarbrough diving save denies NMU but they are awarded a corner kick.
45' - Yarbrough punches NMU corner kick attempt halfway to midfield.
HALFTIME - Solid first half from the guys. Generate a ton of chances but were unable to finish. Will have to live with the 1-0 advantage after 45. Excellent first half performances from Barrios, Shinyashiki and Wilson.
46' - SUBSTITUTION - Auston Trusty enters the match for Danny Wilson.
49' - Rapids have nice combinations up the right flank with Rosenberry, Shinyashiki, Namli and Barrios. Rapids are awarded a corner kick.
51' - Younes works back to stop NMU on the break and wins the ball back.
53' - Barrios chests it down in the box, first time rip is right at the keeper.
55' - Younes dances through a couple guys but can’t shake the last for a shot.
57' - Rapids with back-to-back attempts. Barrios intercepts the ball and his shot is saved. Cole Basset gets a head under a cross and it goes over the bar.
58' - Shinyashiki picks up the ball at the top of the box, has a go, but it's saved.
60' - Barrios finds Bassett. He runs up the field and slips it to Mezquida but his shot is saved.
62' - Namli curls in a left-footed shot from 25 years out and it hits the corner of the post. Score is still 1-0. Rapids are generating a ton of chances but unable to add to their lead. Great job by NMU to keep it a one-goal game.
70' - SUBSTITUTION - Wholesale changes for Colorado. The new lineup: Clint Irwin, Steven Beitashour, Drew Moor, Auston Trusty, Cam Wilkerson, Collen Warner, Yaya Toure, Cole Bassett, Oliver Larraz, Nico Benezet, Darren Yapi.
72' - Moor blocks a shot from distance.
72' - Another big stop from Moor as he slows down NMU striker in a one-on-one scenario. The next shot is saved by Irwin.
75' - Benezet cuts inside from the wing, he splits the defense and gets a shot off. NMU goalkeeper's diving save hits it out for a corner kick.
77' - CARD - Cam Wilkerson commits an important foul for a yellow.
78' - CARD - Keegan Rosenberry is shown a yellow card.
82' - NMU earns a dangerous free kick on the left wing. In swinger is high and wide. It was a really sharp angle for an attempt from MNU.
85' - Yaya Toure steps in and makes a few great plays for the Rapids.
86' - CARD - NMU are shown a yellow card after a tackle on Benezet.
87' - CARD - Wilkerson cuts it back for Benezet after getting but it’s just beyond his reach. This duo has been playing well together on the left flank.
89' - Final attempt for the Rapids. Warner intercepts it from midfield. He finds Bassett wide, who's defender flips over him. Bassett connects with Larraz who shoots from distance, but it's blocked.
FINAL: Rapids - 1, New Mexico United - 0 - The Rapids remain unbeaten in preseason with another clean sheet and another win.
