Nominees for the Colorado Rapids HealthONE Player of the Month are here! The three names up for the award this month are Edgar Castillo, Dominique Badji and Sam Nicholson. Together the nominees accounted for 44 percent of the shots taken and 42 percent of the chances created this month.

Edgar Castillo has become a key player for the club and this month the wingback was instrumental on both ends of the pitch. In four games, he took 13 percent of the teams shots, had a 74 percent passing accuracy and created 11 chances. In addition, Castillo forced an own goal against Portland on May 26.
The newest member of the club, Sam Nicholson, has had an impressive first month. The midfielder made his Rapids debut in the starting lineup against Sporting Kansas City on May 5, and started in all four games this month, playing a total of 305 minutes. In all, Nicholson completed 91 passes, created three chances and made 61 defensive plays (duels, tackles, blocks, interceptions and clearances).
The final nominee for HealthONE Player of the Month is striker Dominique Badji. This month, Badji tallied 18 percent of the team shots with 75 percent of them being on target. He had an 83 percent shot accuracy and made 59 defensive plays (duels, tackles, blocks, interceptions and clearances).
