It’s another week that the Colorado Rapids are well-represented on the Week 19 MLS Team of the Week.
Cole Bassett was named to the week’s Best XI and William Yarbrough earned a spot on the bench after the Rapids’ 3-1 win in Houston on Saturday.
Bassett took four shots, including one on target and another that rattled the woodwork in the second half. The 19-year-old Homegrown Player picked up an assist on Braian Galván’s golazo and won over 80 percent of his duels. In the Houston heat and humidity, Bassett was tireless in his sixth consecutive 90-minute performance.
Yarbrough, meanwhile, put up one of his best performances of the season. The Aguascalientes, Mexico, native made a season-high nine saves as he helped Colorado become the first team to defeat Houston at BBVA Stadium this season.
This is the second consecutive week the Rapids are represented on the Team of the Week after Mark-Anthony Kaye’s selection to the bench in Week 18. It is Bassett’s fourth selection, including his third in the Best XI, while Yarbrough makes his second appearance.
