COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Rapids 2 goalkeeper Adam Beaudry has been named the MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Month for July, the league announced today.
"We are happy for Adam to receive such recognition. He has a wealth of potential,” said Erik Bushey, Rapids 2 Head Coach. “I'm most pleased with the fact that I see him work hard daily in his efforts to reach that potential."
Beaudry made his official MLS NEXT Pro debut on April 30, 2023, in a match against North Texas SC that saw the team capture a 4-2 win over the Texas side. His consistent performances in goal has led Beaudry to the all-time record for most clean sheets in team history with three in total across his two seasons with Rapids 2. Beaudry has made 12 appearances for Rapids 2 in the 2023 season, conceding only 24 goals to maintain Colorado’s standing as one of the top defensive sides in the league.
The 17-year-old goalkeeper carries with him an abundance of international experience, having spent time with the U.S. U-17 Men’s Youth National Team during the Concacaf U-17 Championship in February. During his time at the continental tournament, Beaudry helped the U.S. reach the final before they fell to Mexico in a 3-1 loss. He made three starts for the youth national team during the tournament, recording two clean sheets and three wins.
In April, Beaudry joined the U.S. U-17 team for training camp as they continued their preparation for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, scheduled to take place from November 10 to December 2 in Indonesia. He was one of eight players to return to the team from the U-17 World Cup qualifying roster.
