COMMERCE CITY, Colo.- The Colorado Rapids announced today that the University of Denver Soccer Stadium will be the official home field of Rapids 2 for the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season.
“DU provides Rapids 2 with an ideal home venue. The facility is top quality and we have a long-standing relationship with the University of Denver soccer program and this partnership gives us a chance to showcase some of our up and coming talent in an area that is rich with Rapids fans,” said Brian Crookham, Rapids 2 General Manager.
Kicking off on March 27, the inaugural Rapids 2 season will see the team compete in the Western Conference's Frontier Division alongside North Texas SC, Houston Dynamo II, Sporting KC II, MNUFC 2 and STL CITY 2. Rapids 2 will play nine of its 12 home matches at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium and three home games at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park, including two double headers with the Rapids First Team and the MLS NEXT Pro Game of the Week.
Colorado Rapids season ticket members will be able to redeem complimentary tickets to all Rapids 2 home matches played at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium on a first come, first serve basis and subject to a processing fee. They will also receive complimentary general admission tickets to the MLS NEXT Pro Game of the Week match on August 21. All tickets to the Rapids First Team matches on double-header dates will grant access to the Rapids 2 match.

Opened in 2009, the University of Denver Soccer Stadium features a 2,000-seat grandstand that sits above the 10,000-square-foot Pat Bowlen Strength and Conditioning Complex. The soccer stadium is most accessible to ticket holders from the west facing parking lots (Lots C, 103 & 311(ADA)), which offer $10 parking and direct access to the stadium. Restrooms and concessions can be found in the west concourse of the Ritchie Center, located on the north facing side of the stadium.
The first-ever Rapids 2 home opener is set for Sunday, March 27 at 4 p.m. MT against Sporting KC II. The full regular season will consist of 24 games, with 12 home games and 12 road games, to be followed by an eight-team playoff. The final day of the regular season will be on September 18.
