Rapids 2 have acquired Cameroonian international Daouda Amadou on loan for the remainder of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season, the club announced today.
“Daouda is a dynamic two-way midfielder who despite his age brings significant international experience with him to the club. His ability to influence the game on both sides of the ball will be a valuable asset to the group. Daouda has a tremendous upside and we look forward to getting him into our environment as quickly as possible,” said Rapids 2 General Manager Brian Crookham.
The young midfielder joins the Rapids 2 squad on loan from MFK Vyskov where he made four appearances with the Czech club in the 2021-22 season following a four-year stint with Cameroonian club Oyili FC. Amadou brings with him an abundance of international experience including four appearances for Cameroon in the 2020 UNIFFAC U20 tournament and two appearances in the 2019 U17 World Cup matches versus Tajikistan and Spain. Amadou notably scooped up the man of the match award in the final of the 2019 African Cup of Nations where he logged five appearances with Cameroon’s U17 national team in their run to the title.
Amadou is expected to join Rapids 2 in the coming weeks and will compete with the team for the remainder of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season. To view the full 2022 Rapids 2 roster, click here.
