There were 10 matches this past weekend involving seven teams from the Colorado Rapids Development Academy, with the highlight being a 2-1 win on Saturday for the U-18/19s over FC Dallas.
Traditionally among the powerhouses nationally, FC Dallas were undone by goals from Omar Gomez and Armando Munoz-Zarate. Marcelo Balboa’s team then overcame RGV FC Toros Academy the following day 2-0, with Noah Boettiger and Oliver Larraz doing the damage.
The U-16/17swon one and lost one. They were 3-0 down to FC Dallas before Jason Robles bagged a consolation in the final minute for a 3-1 reversal. There was better news on Sunday, as goals from James Doidge and Kazuki Peralta ensured a 2-1 win over RGV FC.
Maclovio Swett scored in each of the U-15s’ games, netting in the 2-2 tie with FC Dallas, before opening the account on Sunday in a 2-0 win over Toros. Brandon Casales also scored against Dallas, with Joaquin Torres on the mark against the team from the Rio Grande Valley.
Two goals each for Ezekiel Anderson and Eric Gonzalez helped the U-14s to a 4-1 win over Real Colorado on Saturday. Anderson now has 10 goals, with Gonzalez on nine. The U-14s are 8-0-0 this season.
Meanwhile, the U-13s got the better of Real 2-0, to avenge their only loss of the season. Goals came from Theo Scott and Jacob Lahlou. Real are the only team to have taken points off the U-13s, and shut them out, having triumphed 3-0 in Highlands Ranch when the teams met last month.
Both the U-12 teams were successful, also. In the early game, goals from Taban Luna and Justin Ghiselli gave the Rapids a 2-1 win, before Martín Flores, Carlos De Luna, Andrew Harwell, Bruce Quiñones found the net in game two for a 4-0 victory.
The three senior academy teams are home to Sporting Kansas City this coming Saturday. The U-12s, U-13s, and U-14s are in Centennial to face Colorado Rapids Youth on Sunday.
