Colorado Rapids U-14s went into their weekend encounter at FC Boulder boasting a 3-0-0 record, with 18 goals scored and none conceded. They emerged with an improved 4-0-0 record, after defeating their hosts 14-0.
Nine different scorers contributed to the convincing result, with goals from Darren Yapi (3), Alan Salgado (2), Greyson Mitchell (2), Joseph Kresnik (2), Daniel Garcia, Banyon Lyon, Connor Miller, Maclovio Swett, and Ulises Rivera.
With the hattrick, Yapi now has seven goals from four games. He leads the scoring charts for the U-14s, followed by Salgado and Miller (both with five).
The U-13s made it three wins out of four for the season, as they defeated FC Boulder 5-2. Sureel McCain, who scored twice, set them on their way in the 13th minute. Other goals came from Keith Chavarria, Jonah Elstad, and Kevin Tlaxcalteco. Tlaxcalteco now has five goals in four games, including a hattrick in the previous weekend’s 6-2 success over Pride SC.
Not to be outdone, the U-12s won 8-0 and 4-0 in their respective games against Boulder.
All the DA teams play at Real Colorado on Saturday, September 23. For the U-18/19s, U-16/17s, and U-15s this marks only their second game of the season.
