Colorado Rapids’ Development Academy U-18/19s needed a last-minute goal from Rafael Perez on Saturday to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, as they were held 1-1 by Colorado Rush.
Coming off the back of a 7-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City, near-neighbors Rush were on course for their first win of the season, courtesy of a Sami Haddad penalty after 70 minutes, before Perez pounced late on.
Through four matches, the U-18/19s are 2-0-2, but are now without a DA game until October 14, when they host Lonestar SC Academy.
Having lost 2-1 at home to Sporting KC in their previous outing, the U-16/17s bounced back with a 4-0 win over Rush. Goals came from Logan Dorsey (2), Mawolo Easton, Oliver Larraz.
The Rapids’ U-15s avenged the opening day defeat to Rush with a 2-0 home win at the weekend. Mario Ramirez and Luis Reyes were on target.
Like the senior side, the next game for both the U-16/17s and U-15s is against Lonestar SC in mid-October.
On Sunday, the U-14s came from a goal down to defeat Colorado Rush 3-1. Greyson Mitchell, Darren Yapi, and Alan Salgado were the scorers. Yapi now has nine goals in six games. Salgado has six in six.
The U-13s were also 3-1 winners over Rush. Sureel McCain, Keith Chavarria, and Oscar Salgado grabbed the goals.
Arsenal Colorado await the U-14s, U-13s, and U-12s for their next game, at home, on October 14.
