Just days after committing to the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, Milo Garvanian scored his first goal of the season for the Colorado Rapids Development Academy U-18/19s, in their 1-0 home win over Texans SC Houston.
His strike, on Saturday at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park, came after 18 minutes, and handed his side a second straight win and second successive shutout since the winter break.
After 13 games, the U-18/19s sit top of their division, boasting an 8-1-4 record, and leading FC Dallas and Sporting Kansas City by six points, though having played two games more. They also lead on points per game average.
Two goals apiece for Logan Dorsey and Cole Bassett, plus a first for late substitute Hadrood Webster, gifted the U-16/17s a handsome 5-1 victory over Texans SC Houston, stretching their unbeaten run to eight games. They have won the last six.
Based on points per game average, the U-16/17s are second in the standings, behind FC Dallas. They are currently the sixth-best team nationally in their age group.
The U-15s had the early start but, with snow cleared from the pitch, they began what would be another clean sweep for the DA teams, as they triumphed 2-0 over Texans SC Houston. Samuel Bassett edged them ahead on 55 minutes, with an own goal six minutes later making sure.
With victory, the U-15s cemented their spot in second in the Frontier - U-15 Central Division, behind an FC Dallas side with a perfect 8-0-0 record. The U-15s sit with a 7-2-2 record.
All three sides are on the road for their next game, when they tackle Real Colorado in Highlands Ranch on Saturday, February 24.
Before then, the U-12s, U-13s, and U-14s all return to action. They are all at home to Pride Switchbacks this Saturday (February 17), on Field 10 of DICK’S Sporting Goods Park.
