With the winter break over, the U.S. Soccer Development Academy season resumed on Saturday, and the Colorado Rapids claimed a hat-trick of triumphs over Dallas Texans.
The U-18/19s claimed their first win in four games with a 2-0 victory at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park. Matthew Hundley made it 12 goals in 13 appearances with the game’s second strike 10 minutes from time, with the opener having come from Omar Gomez - his first of the season - less than 20 minutes in.
The side, led by John Davies, are home again next weekend, with Texans SC Houston the visitors. That contest is on Field 8 at DSGP, with a 2:00 PM start.
For the fourth game in a row, the U-16/17s kept a clean sheet, and for the third game on the bounce they squeezed out a 1-0 win. Cole Bassett made sure of victory over Dallas Texans, with a goal two minutes from time.
The U-16/17s have an 11:30 AM kick-off against Texans SC Houston at the weekend.
It was a similar tale for the Rapids’ U-15s. They edged Dallas Texans 1-0 at home, with Mario Ramirez on the scoresheet. They move to a 5-1-2 record. Their next match, against Texans SC Houston is a 9:00 AM start this coming weekend.
